Santa, Not Everyone Deserves a Wii

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007 by Customer Service Associate

Because the Wii’s are still in such huge demand, the company I work for has set up special “Wii Days.” We’re doing it because it’s easier for the customer and easier for us. We get to tell the customer exactly when we will have Wii’s in stock, and the customer doesn’t have to call the store everyday to check.

The last time we had Wii’s though, we received them a couple days early and set them aside. Somehow, a customer found out we had them already and went about complaining to every manager she could find. She told us that someone at the store told her we had them in stock, and she had paid a cab to rush down in order to by one. She went through every manager several times over until one of us broke down and went to the back and pulled one out for her.

Next time though, we’re just going to call security.

Got Wii?

We had our last holiday shipment of Wii’s on Friday and it was nuts. We handed out tickets and sold through nearly everything in the first hour. However, we still had three left in the store because some customers needed to run out and pay the parking meter. As they had tickets, we promised to hold the machines until noon.

Unfortunately, in a lapse of judgement, I let slip that we had three Wii’s waiting to be claimed and when word got out, I had not one, but two customers follow me for the rest of the morning hoping that they would get first dibs on those unclaimed Wii’s. They wouldn’t let me out of their sight for anything.

Boy, it was awkward using the washroom that day.
